Favorite Beauty Products - January 2018
I kicked off 2018 trying out a lot of products with the intention of switching up my beauty routine. Good news; most of the products that I've tried are bomb!
Here are some of my favorite beauty products of January 2018!
I've been using this serum every other night since the beginning of January, and I can honestly say that it works! Hyperpigmentation and dullness are my two major skin concerns, and this serum has aided in brightening, smoothing, evening and resurfacing my skin. As someone with sensitive skin, I tend to stay away from products that have strong chemicals and acids. This serum does not contain silicone, dyes, or fragrances; which makes it perfectly safe for my skin. Although it is on the pricey side, I definitely recommend giving this product a test run.
Sooo...I have zero self-control, and couldn't resist picking up Drunk Elephant's C-Firma Day Serum to go along with the Glycolic Night Serum. I apply this serum to my face and neck every morning, and have definitely noticed a difference in terms of brightness and radiance. To be completely honest, his product smells like beef jerky to me, but the scent disappears once the product has dried down.
My skin tends to be more susceptible to dry patches during the winter, so keeping my skin moisturized is a key part of my skin care routine. This oil deeply moisturizes and softens my skin. I mix this product with my Drunk Elephant serums for better absorption.
This product has replaced every exfoliator that I have. I was nervous to use this product given the high AHA percentage, but my skin actually loves it; I haven't experienced a negative reaction yet. This product removes my dead skin, and instantly leaves my skin feeling like butter. I've heard this is a dupe for Drunk Elephant's Baby Facial, but P.S.: Baby Facial is $80, while this is only $7.
My holy grail concealer is Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, but I've been on the hunt for something a bit more affordable. I heard great things about ColourPop's $6 concealer, so I figured why not order a few shades to see how I like it. I picked up Deep Golden as my foundation shade, Tan as my highlighter shade, and Rich as my contour shade. Let's just say I haven't picked up my Nars concealer since I've started using these concealers. They are super creamy, lightweight, and provide great coverage!
I decided that I wanted to kick off 2018 with a brand new brush set, as my old brushes were starting to shed and literally fall apart. I came across this $20 24-piece brush set on shopmissa.com, and couldn't help but try it out. I wasn't expecting much out of these brushes, but my mind completely changed once I received them. These brushes are affordable, cruelty-free, sturdy, soft, and don't shed. What more can you really ask for?
I swore off cleansing devices after trying Vanity Planet's Spin for Perfect Skin. Even on the slowest setting, the device was way too harsh on my skin; leaving it raw and broken. Michael Todd had amazing deals during Black Friday, so I figured I would give cleansing devices another test run, and I went ahead and purchased the Soniclear Petite. I was surprised to find that I absolutely loved it! The brush head vibrates as opposed to actually spinning; offering a thorough, but gentle cleanse. The brush heads are also built with protection against microbial contamination, so brushes don't need to be replaced that often.
I purchased this cleanser along with my Soniclear Petite, and let's just say that this may be my new holy grail cleanser. It does a great job of removing all of the dirt and impurities from my face without stripping my skin of it's natural oils. It has a light, fresh scent, and it's formulated with aloe vera juice, so it's super soothing! If you're looking for a gentle cleanser, I highly recommend this one!
I've never been into tinted moisturizers. They never really do anything for me, and they usually wear off pretty quickly. I picked up this tinted moisturizer in the shade tan after hearing such great reviews about it. The hype is real! This tinted moisturizer offers light coverage that can be built up to medium, and it leaves my skin looking super radiant. I've applied this tinted moisturizer in the morning before work, and came home 12 hours later with my makeup still looking flawless. This product completely changed my mind about tinted moisturizers, and I will definitely be re-purchasing when I run out.
I'm so obsessed with this fragrance! This scent is unique, and unlike any of the perfumes I currently own. It has a cherry-chocolate scent that is rich and sensual without being overpowering. I always receive compliments when I wear this fragrance.
